Cybersecurity at Towson University
With its unique proximity to the nation’s capital and national defense agencies, Towson University is a leader in Cybersecurity Education for citizens in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. Due to the excellent curriculum and faculty expertise in Cybersecurity, Towson University has been designated as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security since 2002.
The Computer Science with a Security Track was one of the first cybersecurity tracks in the country and the first in Maryland. In the past five years, the CIS department has received 18 external cybersecurity grants totaling over $4,780,000. From our award-winning Cyber Defense team, to our full Cyber Corps scholarships for cybersecurity students and our cybersecurity programs available at the undergraduate and graduate level, Towson University allows you to receive the education you need to succeed in the field.
